Almost a decade with pros
BJM has produced players for top youth academies for nearly a decade — first in the UK, now in Dubai. From the first trial to the moment they’re scouted, every player trains under the same coaching standard.
Four standards.
Non-negotiable.
Eight years coaching players to Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham — from young teams up to senior age groups. Across all of it, the same four standards separated the players who made it from the players who didn’t — every time. So here, they’re not optional.
A session that develops a player is built differently from one that just fills ninety minutes. What’s built early in a session is what resolves at the end of it. Skip the foundation and the outcome falls apart — every time. That principle of connected progression runs through everything here — each standard is paired with the coaching principle that produces it.
#Mentality
Composure under pressure isn’t taught. it’s earned.
The players who change games engage the problem and break the line — they don’t run from it. Train that instinct deliberately, or you develop a player who’s technically able but disappears the moment a defender steps in.
What it means in a player?
How you react to mistakes. The discipline you build. Wanting to be the best at everything you do — and holding standards while you do it.
How it shows up in sessions?
Drills are built so players fail before they succeed — then learn to reset and go again. Mistakes are coached out loud, not hidden, and pressure is repeated until composure becomes automatic. Every player leads, communicates and resets — every session, from the youngest group up.

#Reps
The work is the work. There are no shortcuts.
The weaker foot gets the same volume and standards as the stronger foot, non-negotiable in every phase. One sharp repetition builds the right habit; one poor repetition at speed builds the wrong one. Recovery is part of the work because fatigue doesn’t build resilience here, it reinforces bad patterns.
What it means in a player?
Speaking well after a mistake. Taking coaching without ego. Body language that stays right — and treating everyone the same.
How it shows up in sessions?
On time, kit on, ready to work — no exceptions beyond a first warning. Direct feedback is the norm: players take it without ego, ask questions, and apply it next session. How a player treats teammates, parents, opponents and referees is part of the assessment.

#Respect
Talent gets scouted. Character gets signed.
Behaviour, communication, body language — coached with the same precision as the touch and the pass. No exemptions for talent, no assumptions that kids arrive with it. Skip this and you build a player who’s good on the pitch and overlooked off it.

#Football IQ
The game moves faster than the feet.
The touch is a means to create the next situation. Coach the relationship between the touch and what follows it. Get this right and the player starts thinking one action ahead — miss it and you build a player who is tidy in drills and lost in a game.
What it means in a player?
Scanning before you receive. Thinking one action ahead. Reading the game instead of chasing it — decisions made in under a second.
How it shows up in sessions?
Scanning is drilled explicitly — check the shoulder before the ball arrives, every time, until it’s automatic. Decision-under-pressure work runs weekly: limited touches, multiple options, high tempo. Older groups review their own match footage — what was on, what they took, what they missed.

The BJM
Scholarship
Most football scholarships are something families pay into. The BJM Scholarship is the opposite — it’s something we pay for. We cover a talented player’s full programme fees and kit, funded by BJM and our partner companies, because we believe in how far they can go.
There is no application form and no fee to be considered. A place is earned on the pitch and awarded by our coaches.
